Hi, my name is Jay and I am not what most would call a wedding photographer. I like to think of myself as an observer, a documentarian, a collector of moments.
My wedding photography style
I shot weddings in many different styles. Traditional, modern, editorial, but the style that agrees with me most is the candid or photojournalistic style.
A wedding day is a collection of a thousand little moments and I intend on capturing as many of those as I can. I want to fill your wedding album with beautiful stories that will help you remember that day and put a smile on your face every time you look at them in the future. I can pose you for each image and get beautiful results, but while they will be nice portraits, they will not be stories of your actual wedding day, and they will not be much different from the pictures I took at a wedding last weekend and weekend before that.
I hate using cliches like “we’re all individuals”, even when it comes from one of my favourite movies, but the fact remains that I have never seen 2 families with the same set of crazy uncles and aunts, same brothers, sisters or parents. The venues may be similar, the settings, the clothes, the cakes may be similar, but the people never are. If I shoot you according to a well rehearsed template, then you lose all the individuality, the quirkiness that makes your wedding day uniquely yours.
I am a documentary wedding photographer and I will do my best to capture your wedding honestly and beautifully.
